What is a chemical peel, and when is the best time for one?
A chemical peel is a professional-strength solution that removes damaged outer layers of skin to improve tone, texture, sun damage and acne marks. Depending on the peel, expect a few days of flaking. Fall and winter are best, when the Florida sun is gentler, but peels can be done year-round with strict SPF.
What makes a facial "medical-grade"?
Professional-strength treatments planned with input from our medical team. Our providers can also recommend skincare to keep results going at home.
How do I prepare, and what about aftercare?
Stop retinoids and exfoliating acids 3–5 days before a peel, and avoid sunburn and new tanning on the face for a week. Afterwards, wear SPF 30+ daily (essential in Florida), skip makeup for a few hours and heavy workouts or saunas for 24 hours, don't pick flaking skin after a peel, and call (772) 907-5848 if you have unusual redness or blistering.
